About

My name is Leah and I gave birth to my son, Andrew, in June 2017. I had years and years of experience working with children, an exemplary mother of my own, and a ridiculously supportive and loving husband. We were twenty-six and twenty-seven years old, were in the process of building our first home, both held stable careers with good companies and came from loving extended families. Aside from the fact that our tiny boy hadn’t quite been in our plans just yet, we were a recipe for success and greatness!

I battled severe postpartum after the birth of our son. It hit me like a Mack truck and rocked our entire world.

I received help quickly and I had an amazing support network around me who made sure that I was taken care of but in my journey to becoming healthy again I realized just how many women are suffering alone. I realized just how much work still has to be done so that women aren’t afraid to talk about postpartum depression, so they aren’t afraid to ask for help, so they know that they are not alone.

Mending Motherhood came out of my own healing. It is a community; a place for women to share their story and have their voices be heard.

I see you. I hear you. You are not alone.
